What is Neurofeedback?

Using advanced qEEG technology, we are able to get insight into how well your brain is working. Sensors are attached to record your brain’s electrical activity. We analyze the data to identify the sources of your symptoms and develop a program focused on your challenge.

A full-cap qEEG is at the center of the assessment process at our clinic, and essentially helps to understand what is going on in your brain.

How it works

First, a cap is positioned on your head. This allows your brainwave frequencies to be recorded at 19 different sites in your brain. We then calculate and document these brainwave frequencies inside and across all of these diverse brain networks.

We examine both brain speed as well at brain connections to determine how well your brain is functioning. Deep investigation into your brainwave activity provides us valuable insights into what is contributing to your health challenges and symptoms.

Who Can Benefit from Neurofeedback?

Although neurofeedback is mainly geared towards those with neurological and nervous system disorders, anyone who wants to experience the most optimal functioning of their brain can benefit!

Find below a list of conditions that have shown to be clinically responsive to neurofeedback in research studies:
The objective of neurofeedback is not to target any specific condition. What it really helps to do is transform the brain's timing and activation blueprint. The aim is to gradually steer your brain back to normal, healthy patterns and to reconnect neural connections that may have been detached. The result is an enhancement in brain regulation, which in turn helps to improve a wide range of symptoms.

Neurofeedback Treatment

What Does The Treatment Consist Of?

By using a tailored audio and video program and repeating this process over some time, the brain will adapt to maintain healthy patterns without the need for further treatment. The result is brain regulation improvement, which can lessen or even eliminate most neurological symptoms. The process is actually really easy, and you can feel improvement just by listening to favorite visual and auditory programs.

The process itself is non-invasive, drug-free and pain-free.

Who Can Benefit?

No matter what your age or background, neurofeedback can work for you. All that is required is your ability to focus on auditory or visual stimulation. Any neurological issue involving irregular brainwaves can be addressed and improved with neurofeedback.

Frequent re-assessments (brain maps) guarantee continued improvements and resolutions of symptoms.

What Are Brainwaves? How Do They Affect Me?

Neurofeedback targets the 4 main brainwaves (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Theta). All of these brainwaves are responsible for the regulation of both the active conscious and subconscious facets of your body.

See the diagram below:
Delta brainwaves are linked to deep, dreamless sleep and renewal. They occur when you are sleeping and are responsible for regeneration and body healing.

Theta brainwaves are related to light sleep or intense relaxation. You produce Theta brainwaves when your subconscious mind takes over.

Alpha brainwaves occur when you are awake but relaxed and not processing much information. When you first get up and right before you fall asleep, you are generating Alpha waves, as well as when you close your eyes to rest.

Beta brainwaves are associated with the mental state most people are in during the day and most of their waking lives. When you are alert and focused, you are producing Beta brainwaves.

While each of these brainwaves is responsive for different body functions, they all are equally important to your health and well-being. Researchers have known for decades the correlation between Irregular brainwaves and common neurological conditions. Neurofeedback is the first field to directly target these irregular brainwaves and restore them to normal ranges.
